Adam RYMELL

5 September 1732

In the Name of God Amen I Adam Rymell of the parish of St Giles Cripple Gate without in the county of Middlesex joyner and citizen of London being weak in body but of sound perfect and disposing mind and memory (for which I praise God) do make this my last Will and Testament in manner as follows.

First I do with all humility renounce my Sinful Soul to the Almighty God humbly begging pardon for all my Sins & through the above merits and mediation of his son Jesus Christ my beloved Saviour.

And to my body I desire the same may be decently buryed in such manner as my Executors hereinafter named in their discretion shall think fitting lest I shall at any time hereinafter otherwise direct the same.

And as to such worldly estate with which it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as follows (vizl).

I Will that all such just debts that I shall owe at the time of my death together with my funeral expenses and all charges for the proving of or otherwise ………… this my Will shall in the first place thereout be fully paid and satisfied.

And from and after payments thereof and subject thereunto then my Will is that all the residue of my goods, stock, household furniture and chattels whatsoever which I shall be possessed of or anywise entitled unto at the time of my death shall be indifferently appraised by skilful persons. And after such appraisal thereof made that then the same together with my ready money and all securities for moneys shall according to the usual customs of the City of London be divided into such parts or shared as the Customs of the said City directs.

And as for such part or parts thereof as my three children shall be distributed unto I give and bequeath same unto and amongst them my said three children to be equally parted, paid and delivered to them according to the Customs of the said City at their respective ages of twenty one years.

And as for the residue or remaining part or parts of my said estate whereof or wherein I have power to give and dispose of the same according to the Customs of the said City my Will is and I hereby give and dispose thereof in manner as follows(vizl) As to one fourth part of the residue of my said Estate (the whole of such residue or what remains into four equal parts to be divided). I give and bequeath the same unto my loving Son and Daughter (William Robinson and Joanna his wife their Executors Administrators and Assigns. And as to the other three parts that remain of my Estate in my power to dispose of according to the aforesaid Customs (the whole having been so divided into four equal parts as aforesaid) I give and bequeath the same wholly and entirely unto my loving son Adam to be paid and disbursed him at his age of twenty two years (thereon ……… for the support and maintenance of my said son Adam and for putting him out Apprenticed and all other ……. Until he arrives at his said age of twenty two years to be thereout disbursed and defrayed by my Executors thereinafter mentioned from time to time as occasion shall require.

And in case my said son Adam should happen to die before he shall arrive at his said age of twenty two years and having no wife or issue then my Will and Intention is and I do hereby give and bequeath the same wholly and entirely to my said son and daughter (William Robinson and Joanna his wife their Executors Administrators and Assigns. And I hereby ordain constitute and appoint the said William Robinson and Joanna his wife Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament and my good friends Samuel Goldbyer of St Leonards, Shoreditch, Founder and William Ellison of Abchurth and London…………. Trustees and Overseers of this my Will desiring their utmost care in the performance thereof.

And further I give and bequeath them the said Trustees the sums of Three Guineas apiece to be paid them by my said Executors out of such of my Personal Estate as shall by the said Customs be at my disposal at the time of my death.

And lastly I hereby revoke and make void all former Wills by me made. In witness whereof I the said Adam Rymell have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of August in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and thirty two and in the Sixth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith.
